Jeron Benito Champagne JR also known as JChampion is an aspiring American rap/ Hip-Hop artist who holds immense passion for music and everything that comes along with it. JChampion was born in a Gainesville, TX prison to a Black American father and a Puerto Rican/Brazilian mother. Growing up, Jchampion had to face a fair share of hardships and struggles in his life which in a manner motivated and inspired him to pursue his passion for music and ultimately led him to tail a career as a Rap artist.

Jchampion always had a mindset of an impeccable artist and was geared up with the remarkable ability to adapt and write captivating and moving songs. This lyrical ability blended up with the experience of his life generated a formidable duo that assisted him in paving his own way to success. Jchampions greatest influences include rap artists such as Kurrupt, Jay- Z, and DMX, whose work lured him into writing songs and introduced him to the lyricist side of him.

The brand Menace League is the latest endeavor of JChampion which he formulated with the single objective in mind to educate guide, motivate, and inspire the masses. Jchampion believes music is the ultimate medium of expression and an artist could reach out to millions of people around the world through just one song. Jchampion is not only in the pursuit of success but he dreams that his story could act as the blueprint for other aspiring artist to follow.

Jchampion is currently on the lookout for opportunities to expand his brand and business to a greater extent and he believes his street knowledge and swagger, and lyrical ability could help him in transforming his dreams and ambitions to a reality.

When and why did you start playing? I started experimenting with music around 2008,I’ve always had a creative love for it,and after years of sitting back and watching the grass grow,I felt like I could also share something the world would embrace and vibe to.

Which famous musicians do you admire? Why? I really Admire the Moguls,I call them the Mount Rushmore of Hip-hop, Master P for being independent and pushing his Brand and music without a Limitation,Dr Dre for his musical ear and being open to take Chance’s with his song concepts and artist, he opened a lane of creativity that is one of one,and the musicians he Brought to the table are not only icons but they set the standard for rap,Same goes for Cash Money’s Baby,Dame Dash,PDiddy and Jay-Z…

Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones? I was musically influenced by the Motown temptations,2pacs me against the world album gave me a deep rugged poetic insight on life,The dog pound Dog Food is the album that motivated my pen hand to even create music in the 1st place,The games documentary showed me how to create a sound that was refreshing and raw,50cents get rich or die trying was a masterpiece and it gave the blue print on how to transition from the mixtapes that were dope to the perfect album,Nas it was written album insert booklet showed me how to write bars…

Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? CD’s?  Favorite Groups WuTang,Bone Thugs,Mob Deep,Dog Pound Ugk and Slaughter house,my fav artist Drake,Kxng Crooked, Royce da 5’9 ,Skeme,Nipsey Hussle, Joyner lucas,stack Bundles,Joe Budden,Chynx Drugz,and of course myself JChampion,

Have you been in competitions? Fleadh’s? Any prizes? I’ve done quite a few competitions Coast2coast etc and the biggest prize outside of new fans after every event was a grand prize of a 1000 dollars..

Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV? I perform mostly as an opening act for big names,in concert style venues,my team and I sale tickets and run a whole promo campaign up until the event were we set up a merchandise stand displaying our latest music and wardrobe,and do a meet and greet with fans before and after the showcase,I stay in the loop musically/interviews with some of the more prestigious radio stations in my area,I’ve done some TV and podcast as far showcasing talent on some popular stream channels….

What makes this kind of music “good” to you? it’s inspiring and it heightens my motivation optimum leaps,it boost my moral to go out there and get it,#Chea!!!!

Why did you choose to play this kind of music? it’s the best form of articulating my vision in my opinion,I’m really open minded when it comes to music,but I’ve study enough greats to tell my story in a unique relatable way no matter the topic, that I feel people will embrace and listen to alot…

Let’s Talk about your music and your last work… my last projects were released last year,I released four different mixtapes 6videos and really made a name for myself,each album was different,I tried to cover all genres and just pretty much show I can do it all and at the same time make you dance or Bob your head or both,when I released each project I created a certain amount of physical copies that I sold in bundle packages that came with novelty items that could only be obtained by getting one of the bundles,shouts out to everyone who showed love and grabbed one,thank you…

How do you feel about the internet in the music business? I feel the internet is a essential tool to being successful in this day and age,you can distribute your own music on almost any music platforms you like,you can do business around the world at the touch of a button,I feel the internet music business is a multi facet tool that can benefit you if you know what your doing…

What are the plans for the future? Grind hard one day,then grind harder the next,then repeat,I understand repetition is the keys to success,so I’m just going to continue to work hard and stay excited and reach as many people as feasible and then double that and then repeat…

How has your music evolved since you first began playing music? alot,my sound quality is a one hundred times better,ive learned how to really use my voice and record and not sound like I’m reading off a piece of paper,my song concepts are more intriguing due to the added experiences of life,and I’ve invested in more of the rite places…

Could you briefly describe the music-making process? I clear my mind,put the beat on repeat,put my headphones on and vibe,and just Mumble ryme schemes until I create suitable lyrics,it can sometimes be a short process or sometimes it can take to long to the point I have to stop and continue in sessions, apiece here apiece there,it’s really all about the subject matter, I never rush a verse,if the vibe isn’t there I won’t force it
