Interview by Tim Brown
When and why did you start playing?
I started singing since I was 4 years old, I use to play instruments with my grandfather that passed away. In his memory I kept the family promise and I continued my music project; singing and doing own music.
As I was growing up, different job opportunities appears, such as being a model for some event, “hosting” or being the main model of several music videos of artists of the genre that we hear today. For example ‘Bad Bunny, Daddy Yankee, De La Ghetto, Bryant Myers’, etc.
I had to take certain careful steps in my career and thanks to that that’s why I am “the artist and the model” of my own music videos.
Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
When I first started in this music industry, Bad Bunny was an up and coming artist at that time, where I was working like a model for one of his music videos. He started from the bottom and look at him now he has his own music movement. And Cardi B, let’s start because she’s one of my favorite female artist.
Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? CD’s?
My favorite : I still love it is from Michael Jackson, and I can’t choose one cause I love all his records, but Billie Jean, Beat It and Smooth Criminal.
How is the scene of Trap for a female singer in Puerto Rico?
Sadly this trap movement is very difficult, is “machista”, that’s why I make music in order that women can identify themselves, even some ‘websites’, ‘bloggers’, ‘some people in the business’ don’t support what I am doing, Im going still doing it, because music is my passion, and Im going to leave a solid footstep!.
Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV
I perform in public, I love the audience is really energetic. I get to see my fans singing to my songs and that is what motivates me to keep doing music and continue my dream.
Why you decide to do Trap and Reggeaton?
I liked trap music when I started, because I felt free on the to perform over the beat. I could give it “my own flow”. Reggaeton, because although I do not understand that it originated in another country, but Puerto Rico adopted, mold it on its on way, is a genre with high audience in Puerto Rico and Latin America.
My music is variety I do not like to focus on just one genre. I sing trap trap reggaeton among others as romantic etc.
Let’s Talk about your music and your last work…
“Mas Perra Que Yo” was the last thing I launched, but more music is coming. It’s a trapbow, a mix of trap with ‘dembow’ and dedicated to my friends in the LGBT community. The video is on YouTube and reached 300k views. We are working to continue reaching larger numbers.
How do I feel about internet for the music business…
Has been a great help the “era” we are currently living, but I remember the times before; when buying the CDs and the campaigns of the artist’s promotion, it was very different dimension the media, concerts, promotions, etc. versus what are being worked on today’s business. But yes, for the public today is the easiest way to buy music, watch music videos, buy tickets for events, and follow the footsteps of your favorite artists.
